Ingredients:
- 1 pound of shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 8 ounces of cream cheese, softened
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 clove of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon of soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger
- 24 wonton wrappers
- Oil for frying
- Sweet chili sauce for dipping
Instructions:
- Start by cleaning the shrimp. Rinse them under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- Next, chop the shrimp into small pieces. You can use a knife or a food processor for this step.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped shrimp, softened cream cheese, finely chopped green onions, minced garlic, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and ground ginger. Mix everything until well combined.
- Now, it’s time to assemble the Shrimp Rangoon. Take a wonton wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the shrimp and cream cheese mixture in the center.
- Moisten the edges of the wonton wrapper with water to help seal it. Fold the wrapper in half diagonally to form a triangle and press the edges together to seal.
- Repeat this process with the remaining wonton wrappers and filling until all the Shrimp rangoons are assembled.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to about 350°F (175°C). Carefully place the Shrimp Rangoon in the hot oil and fry them until they turn golden brown, usually around 2-3 minutes per side.
- Once they are cooked, remove the Shrimp Rangoon from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
- Serve the Shrimp Rangoon hot with sweet chili sauce for dipping. Enjoy!
