How We Ship Lobster
We take great care in packaging our live lobsters, ensuring they are snug in a foam-insulated box with gel packs, seaweed, and damp paper to maintain their freshness during shipping. Our deliveries are sent overnight via FedEx air service across the USA, except for Alaska and Hawaii due to shipping restrictions.
Handling & Thawing
You can either let them thaw in the fridge overnight or speed up the process by submerging them in cold water, changing the water every 30 minutes until they’re thawed. Remember to handle them carefully, as they can be quite active. When it’s time to cook, you can boil or steam them. Boiling in salted water for around 8-10 minutes per pound is a popular method.
Lobster Prepration Guide
Enjoying live lobsters promptly is key. Lobsters can be cooked through boiling, steaming, baking, or grilling. Boiling involves simmering lobsters in water, add some salt and wait until the shell turns bright red, typically taking around 8-10 minutes per pound. Feel free to explore detailed delicious cooking methods or our guide on the proper way to crack open a lobster for a delightful dining experience.
How We Source Maine Lobster
We make sure to source our Live Maine lobsters directly from the waters of Portland, Maine, working closely with local fishers to prioritize sustainability and the health of the marine ecosystem and lobster community. Through close collaboration with fishers, we assure not only high-quality lobsters but also responsibly and eco-friendly harvested ones.
➣ Following minimum and maximum size limits from the Maine government
➣ Notching female lobsters with eggs and adding vents in traps for young lobsters, along with controlling lobster licenses and trap numbers, all help in lobster population growth and sustainable fishing practices.

How long do my Lobster keep?
It’s best to enjoy your live lobsters as soon as you can after you get them. Typically, you can safely store them for around 1-2 days after receiving them. The fresher, the better when it comes to savoring those delicious lobsters!
How do I store these lobster
To ensure your live Maine lobsters stay fresh, keep them in a cool, damp spot. Put them in a container with a moist cloth or seaweed to help them stay hydrated. Remember to store them in the fridge, but don’t seal them in airtight containers; they need airflow. Keep them alive until you’re ready to cook and savor them for the tastiest lobster feast!
Should I keep them on ice?
You can store them with ice packs or in the fridge, just make sure they stay as chilly as you can handle, but avoid freezing them. This will help keep them fresh and ready for when you’re all set to cook them up!
